This tiny parcel of biotite granite is located in St Michel/Rhône at a place called "La Cartherie", in the immediate vicinity of Château-Grillet. The first Viognier vines for this parcel were planted in 1952. At present, only half a barrel is produced.
Oenology
De-stemming, then skin maceration for 9 hours. Malolactic fermentation on the lees in oak demi-muids. Battonage sparingly. Depending on the vintage, the wine is aged for about 21 months in the same new French oak container (without racking and without sulphur).

Sea fish - Poached poultry - Rigottes de Condrieu.
