Viticulture
It comes from the Rotenberg, this limestone slab of the great Oolite, sloping towards the east, standing like a sentinel facing the south and the plain. It is the earliest of the Bergheim terroirs. Its red soils, marked by iron, deeply chalky and this totally sunny climate bring together the Riesling and the Pinot Gris in a characteristic shimmer of citrus fruits. The vinification in amphora highlights this terroir in a native and decarbonised form, which keeps only the essential, like a purification and reveals another facet of this terroir, the Rotenberg.
